 -Evaluate the implications of the modifications with regard to functional safety

 -Identify and describe the safety activities to be performed, based on the impact of the modifications

3-6 Hazard Analysis

 -identification of potential hazards and establishing the risk potential by normative method

 -Determining the required Automotive Safety Integrity Level(ASIL) and the related safety goals

-work products(a selection): Hazard analysis and risk assessment report, Verification report of the hazard analysis and risk assessment

 -working steps:

 1/ situation analysis and identification of hazards

 2/ Classification of the hazards (S, E, C)

 3/ ASIL determination(using a risk matrix)

 4/ Definition of the safety objectives(description of the safety goals to be complied with)

 5/ Review(Check for completeness)

3-7 Functional safety concept

 -Functional safety concept to achieve the safety goals

 -Derivation of parameters(Safe State, Fault Tolerance Time Interval(FTTI), etc.)

 -Deriving a safety architecture

 Assignment of the ASIL requirement to the elements

 Illustration and description of measures from other technologies and/or external measures

 -ASIL decomposition: Distribution of the ASIL requirement over several item elements

 only possible if there is sufiicient independence of the decomposed elements(an DFA analysis of "dependent faults" must show that independence is given.)
